Today Westlake’s Varsity and Junior Varsity tennis teams participated in the Bruin Invitational at Mountain View High School. The field included Alta HS, Mountain View HS, Provo HS, and Westlake HS. Here are Westlake’s results:

Varsity
1st Single – Ryan Pickering lost to Alta 5-7, 1-6. Ryan was ahead 4-2 in the first set when he sprained his ankle and his movement was severely after that. He had to forfeit his remaining match due to the injury.
2nd Singles – Cameron White took first place beating MV 6-0, 6-1 and then winning in the final in a fantastic match against Provo 6-4, 2-6, 10-8.
3rd Singles – Cole Brewster took third place losing his first match to Provo 0-6, 0-6 and then coming back to win his second match against Alta 6-4, 6-3.
1st Doubles – Jacob Gwilliam and Gavin Rideout finished in fourth place losing to MV 1-6, 4-6 and Alta 1-6, 1-6.
2nd Doubles – Christopher Freeman and Connor Andrews finished in fourth place losing to Alta 1-6, 1-6 and MV 1-6, 2-6.

Junior Varsity
1st Singles – Daniel Hilton finished in fourth place losing to Alta 0-8 and MV 6-8 in a tough match.
2nd Singles – Kenneth Triggs finished in fourth place losing two very close matches. He lost to MV 6-8 and Alta 5-8.
3rd Singles – Andrew Bargeron finished in fourth place losing to Provo 1-8 and MV 5-8 in another tough match.
1st Doubles – Aaron Bradshaw and Gabriel Perez finished in fourth place losing to MV 3-8 and Alta 4-8.
2nd Doubles – Ethan Bullock and John Foster finished in second place playing two terrific matches. They beat Alta 9-7 and then lost to Provo in the final 7-9.
