Last night, in our last game before entering region play, the boys lacrosse team rolled to a 20-0 victory over Spanish Fork. Playing in the rain, snow, and cold conditions, the boys came together and executed the game plan beautifully, playing as one unit on both sides of the ball. Sophomore Hunter Hernandez (39) scored 7 goals and added 1 assist, while Freshman Jagger Huscroft (3) added 5 goals in his first start as a varsity player. Senior Paxton Schramm (42) finished the game with a hat trick (3 goals) in a great performance in the game. Freshman Tommy Bodell (15) went 16 for 20 at faceoff, winning 80% of his faceoffs and adding 1 assist, too. Senior Bridger Johnson (10) was a wall in the goal and the defense, anchored by Senior Hunter Larsen (25) created chaos and carnage every time the ball came into their territory and forced turnover after turnover, getting the ball back to the offense in short time.
We are grateful to the Spanish Fork Dons for hosting us and allowing us the opportunity to compete. Spanish Fork is a newly sanctioned team and we were so impressed with their development and “NEVER QUIT” mentality and approach to the game. At no point did they hang their heads low or play with any less intensity. They showed tremendous class, grit and respect throughout the entire game. We are excited to see them grow and develop in the coming years. They’ve got incredible coaches and athletes and they will continue to become a strong program in the coming years.
The boys Varsity and JV teams both wrapped up the games last night with victories and both teams now sit at 3-1 on the season. Our next game is next Tuesday @ Skyridge @ 3:30PM.
